About the job:

The teaching positions are Monday-Friday 7am-6pm working hour span, for 8h daily shifts. Schedules are to be determined.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Assume responsibility of the early childhood center as a director and lead teacher.
  • Collaborate with the Director on Administrative duties, fire drills, children and staff files, DCFS visits and licensing regulations,
  • Adhere to licensing standards and take responsibility with staffing ratios, teacher breaks, opening and closing duties, etc.
  • Oversee curriculum implementation for all classrooms
  • Oversee all classrooms Brightwheel communication, daily activity logs.
  • Collaborate with the teachers on lesson plans, projects, activities, etc.
  • Planning weekly curriculum, arts and craft projects, daily educational games and various other activities
  • Communicate daily with parents at drop off/pick up about the child’s day and needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming classroom environment
  • Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the school and DCFS.
  • Provide loving care and caregiving activities
  • Caring for a group of children, changing diapers, potty-training, making sure their physical and emotional needs are taken care of
  • Following a daily routine and encouraging children to participate in various activities
  • Setting up a table for lunch, preparing meals and helping feed the children
  • Cleaning after children which entitles vacuuming, wiping table tops, mopping floors, taking the garbage out, washing dishes, cleaning bathrooms, disinfecting toys, decluttering the classroom and making it appear neat and tidy, etc.
  • Taking children out for a walk, to a local playground or outdoors activity
  • Being a team player and equally participating in classroom duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in ECE/ECD or related filed with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in ECE/ECD and 3 credits in ECE Administration/Management courses OR IL Gateways Director Credential Certificate
  • Minimum of 2 years of Leading classroom and implementing ECE Administrational tasks
  • Knowledge of IL DCFS licensing standards and rules
  • Food Mangers License or willingness to obtain certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Proof of up to date physical, TB Test, and immunizations (6month old)
  • Must be a team player
  • Excellent organization skills and communication skills
  • Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements

Job Type: Full-Time, M-F availability is a must.

Salary: $20.00 to $25.00 /hour

  • Food Handler License or willingness to obtain certification
  • CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Proof of up to date physical, TB Test, and immunizations
  • Background check clearance
  • Must be a team player
  • Excellent organization skills and communication skills
  • Must meet and follow all City and State licensing requirements

Job Type: Full-Time

Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 /hour

Qualifications:

  • Minimum High school Diploma and a sincere desire to have a meaningful and positive effect on children’s lives and advancement in ECE/ECD educational filed.
